Long time no update. No excuse really, other than apathy. Lots of things have happened since I last wrote anything here. One of the things that didn't happen is a job, which I am mildly concerned about but not concerned enough to start looking at minimum wage stuff just yet. I have applied for a job as part of the research and development team for an environmental charity - it may not pay brilliantly but they have a good reputation for working conditions, flexible working and being employee friendly. Fingers crossed that they at least interview me.

Other stuff included an evening at [livejournal.com profile] penwing's, drinking, eating and playing Balderdash, which is even more fun than I remember. I came second :) Last weekend [livejournal.com profile] scarfell and I decided to go to Anglesey and explored some bits of the north of the island that I'd never seen before. I'm much more familiar with the west coast. The results were mixed - we discovered a vineyard (?!!), a peninsular with an interesting, very Dr Who-esque lighthouse, s 5th century church and Angelsey's nuclear power station!

Also, last weekend I finally gave in to a niggling wish and went out and bought two guinea pigs. They are female, one with dark brown and white markings with a tuft on her head and the other with an interesting mix of white, tan and a sort of fawny colour on her bottom! They are still nameless, as I have been waiting for their personalities to emerge. I've never had shop-bought guinea pigs before and they are much more nervy. They are still quite nervy but are starting to eat out of my hands. My long-suffering father set to and has made a fantastic outdoor run for them - I literally just put them in it and they started jumping up and down with excitement, squeeing, and then they settled down to pig out on the grass. I imagine I will be sad enough to post photos.

I also just bought a bike, or rather [livejournal.com profile] scarfell bought it for me, as I've not had one since university. It's an absolute joy to ride, unlike the rickety old bone-shaker I had a uni, and we christened it today by taking it on a cycle trail in Delamere forest. My rear end hurts.

Anyway, that's about exhausted my news, I think. Oh yes, I did exercise my democratic rights on Thursday and was pleased to see Labour lose control in Warrington, which now has no overall control.
