Back in the land of...
May. 30th, 2003 07:13 pmBlue sky and sun?? That's not right! Not that I'm complaining.
I'm back home safe, albeit jetlagged and tired from going into work straight after getting off the plane on Thursday morning.
Leaving was hard - two weeks in the sun with a good friend and no responsibility, who would honestly trade that for a 9-5 job they're not particularly fond of and a somewhat complicated Real Life? I cried when I had to go through security and leave
aelin and had to be given a tissue. Quel embarrassing.
The journey was uneventful except for our arrival - we had to sit on the tarmac for a while because the airport was stuffed full of Italians trying to get home after the game at Old Trafford and there was nowhere to offload arriving passengers.
My food offerings were given the thumbs down by my picky-bastard co-workers. Shame on them! I bought "Mini Moon Pies" (kind of like a British Wagon Wheel. Choccie biscuit with marshmallow) and "Hershey Kisses". I huffed and told them they were all culture-lacking xenophobes.
The tendency to break down into sniffles is still present. I would quite like that to go away soon.
