Suddenly there's excitement about Dreamwidth. I, of course, am probably weeks behind everyone else. If large portions of the flist seem to be heading in that direction, then I imagine I will move over. I don't have lots and lots to say but I still enjoy writing posts as and when. So, if anyone's got an invite code, I would appreciate one. I'll stress that I'm not desperate for one so happy for people's codes to go to those that really want one. I have no idea how numerous these things are.

What are people's thoughts on Dreamwidth? Are you going and leaving LJ, staying and crossposting, or sior is it just too early to tell?

Buying an account in May, crossposting.

It's beta, hence the invite codes, so you can get an account for free without invite in about two weeks from now. I'm buying because it's about 3 USD per month.

No, the invite codes are permanent, but there will be many more in circulation, and the invite codesharing community, http://dw-codesharing.dreamwidth.org/ will be open.

Oops, I stand corrected.

I can still buy my way in though, right?

Absolutely. US$3 buys one month of paid time, after which the account can revert to free.

Further to my comment from last month, I think I probably will move over, probably before the end of the year. DW is full of buzz, it's easy to find new people and the software, so far, works surprisingly well. I'm doing a gradual migration, but today is the day I went to my Dreamwidth reading page before bothering to open my LJ friends list. Enough people have moved over and are crossposting that it's worth doing, including moderators for alternative versions of several of my favourite communities.
